2004 Custom Nanoose 39" Bill Garden Design

  Classic schooner built by Nanoose Shipyards in Nanaimo British Columbia and Bill Garden Design she is a solid built vessel in very good condition. Blue Starr 1 is a carvel/flush planked wooden gaff rigged schooner with a full displacement hull and old world charm. The decks on solid with two inch teak strip planking with spruce fore and main masts. The cabin exterior is epoxy finished over cedar framing with mahogany window casings, hatch covers and teak handrails on the cabin roof. Aft is the cockpit that features a teak sole, bench seats with storage below and powered by a three cylinder Detroit Diesel with a Borg-Warner marine gear. 

   Below decks the interior is nicely laid out and beautiful finished with mahogany and yellow cedar joinery and trim. The cabin has bronze framed portlights and the soles are tongue & groove with  mahogany strip plank. Forward is a V-Berth and to port is the enclosed head with shower and starboard is a hanging locker. The main salon has bench seats/berths port and starboard and there is a full equipped galley aft. Blue Starr 1 was constructed using quality marine grade materials and excellent workmanship is evident throughout the vessel!
