1985 Ta Shing Panda 40 Pilothouse

Olympia, Washington

$59,500

When you combine the incredible design talent of Robert Perry with the impeccable build quality of Ta Shing Yacht Building Company, result is one truly amazing crusing machine. "Kite" is a gorgeous Panda 40 Pilothouse. She's a proven fast passagemaker that is well equipped for the task.  This is a truly special boat of great pedigree. She needs little in order to go right back out and do it again. If you're searching for the comfort of a wheelhouse and still want the performance of a real sailing machine, I think you've found a terrific solution here.

ABRI was just put back in the water in April 2024 after having new bottom paint, zincs, and a thru hull replaced.

4 new house batteries were also added.

Her Volvo MD30A will need to be replaced as wel as some cabin leaks addressed.

ABRI is priced aggressively by a motivated seller and will be a great boat for a do it yourselfer that can give her the attention that she needs.

Possible slip assumption for the next owner here in Olympia.

Accommodation/Galley
ABRI's salon, navigation station, galley and quarterberth are surrounded by windows of 3/8" tempered glass affording a 360 degree view. The accomodation plan allows for sleeping five outside the immediate main salon area of the boat. There is a very comfortable 7 foot long V-Berth forward stateroom, another private double pullman style double stateroom just aft and to the portside and a quarterberth in the pilothouse that is located aft and to starboard. The head is forward and to starboard and features a marble topped vanity counter with sink, marine head and separate stall shower compartment.

Upon entering the companionway from the cockpit the U-shaped galley is securely located one step down from the salon and to the portside. There is a panoramic view from the main salon/galley/interior steering station. The galley is a wrap around "U" shape with vast storage and contrasting wood countertops. Double stainless steel sinks are aft, propane stove/oven and individual fridge and freezer compartments under counter. There is a large stand up navigation station opposite the galley to starboard with great storage, drawers and area for instruments.

Just forward of the navigation station is the inside helm with a large wheel, instrumentation and the electrical distribution panel located here. The main salon is raised and from the table you are sitting up for a true 'sit in, see out' experience. The whole wheelhouse is bright and airy even on a gray day. With an opening hatch directly over the inside helm you can see the masthead. It is a safe place for night watches and a comfortable place from which to enjoy the experience.

There is an exceptional amount of storage space in accessible areas as well as great ventilation through 5 deck hatches, 8 bronze ports and 4 fans.
